Out and back hike used for hiking.
An excellent hike with my pup. Leaves, water views, rocks, and AT thru-hikers to chat with -- will do this one again!
This is a great day hike. Awesome views, just enough climbing to make it a workout, but not exhausting. Beautiful in every season (power lines excluded).
Great short hike. I wouldn't consider it hard but I could see how some could. Views are worth it. Take your dog!
Very nice trail with low traffic, wonderful view of Carvins Cove!
really enjoyable hike, wouldn't rate it as hard most of the hike you're on the ridge line. Vistas were amazing overlooking the lake, Hay rock itself was slightly underwhelming but awesome none the less
loved the different terrains in this hike. beautiful trail and even more beautiful views. i wouldn't necessarily say this trail is difficult, more like moderate.
I wouldn't call this a hard hike. It's a bit long, but about the same ad McAfee's, but the inclines were not difficult. Beautiful views! The rock at the end is a bit dangerous, but extremely cool and worth it. It shouldn't be climbed by children.
This was an incredible trail with amazing views. The changing terrain was wonderful. There was always a new "feel" to where you were running. The rock climbing sections added a bit of fun too. The split logs were interesting to run on. The power lines didn't bother me. There is a huge elevation climb in about a mile and a half and then it's Rocky for awhile so you really have to pick up your feet if you are running which is harder after the 1000 ft elevation climb but that's good for training even though it was hard. I loved it!
Great! Slightly difficult but it was hot out. The views are so pretty. I don't know why people complain about the power line. It's actually very cool to see... Never seen one up close and you just pass it halfway through the hike. It's not bothersome at all! I'd definitely go again.
Parts of the trail were tough but the views were worth it!
one of my favorites. have done this section four times in the past 6. months. loooove
still on it :)
It was my favorite hike I've been on.
