Easy hike but fun! Great views at the top with a nice picnic area.

nice hike. I'd put the hike at light moderate unless you drive to the top then walk 50ft to the over look.

I'm not sure "easy" is the right word as it was decently steep the entire way. It took about 30 minutes to reach the top. My 6 year old got tired half way through, but was able to finish without too much complaining. The views from the top were amazing - highly recommend this hike (or drive - my parents took this route and met us at the top).

Short but steep. Beautiful view from the summit. Map at the top was helpful in locating the various mountains visible on both the New York and Vermont sides.

Great easy trail for beginners, people with kids or for a quick hike with guests from out of state. It's pretty highly trafficked, especially in the summer months. There's a large picnic area and bathroom facilities at the top, as well as an access road with parking lot.

This is always my last minute go to place. Easy and awesome views at top. Can draw in an abundance of people and dogs.

A short hike with beautiful views. I missed the trailhead at the parking area so we walked on the paved road until we found Devil's Chair Trail. The trail was steep in areas and could get slippery in wet conditions. The overhanging rock on Devil's Chair Trail was an impressive sight. Noticing the many fallen pieces, it did make me wonder the chance of one breaking free as I passed through. A risk one will take though to experience nature. We passed by the den of a porcupine. A cave entrance evident by the abundant scat, strong urine scent, and many quills. The views of the lake and Adirondacks were beautiful from the summit. With the leaves gone from the trees, we were able to see additional views along the way that you wouldn't at other times. We walked the paved road back to the bottom parking area. We spent 3 hours at a leisurely pace. The pavement is quick and easier walking, but I will take the wooded trail if I go back.

Easy and great views. You can always walk up the road if the trail is too wet or slick anyway!
