Guided nature trail, desert springs, swamp, outstanding photo op, fall color You could do this trail fast. Half an hour is all it takes to go up to the overhanging cliff face and back. If you're a grinder, you can skip the signs and do it even faster. But if you're that kind of person, what is the point of coming here? Why not just run around the track back at home? Weeping Rock offers a spectacular view down-canyon, especially of Zion's signature landmark The Great White Throne. Water that has filtered for 1200 years seeps out of the Navajo Sandstone where it meets the Kayenta Shale and forms a steady rain in front of an overhang. Enroute you pass through a sloping swamp, a distinctive feature of Zion, where maidenhair fern and horsetails grow. Bird lovers will enjoy the swallows and when the maples begin to turn in late October, there is yet another spectacle not to be missed. The passage of the hours will change the hues before your very eyes.
A very short, moderately steep but family-friendly hike to the popular Zion landmark. It is amazing to think that you are standing under water that has taken more than a thousand years to re-emerge, seeping through the sandstone before being forced back out. The constant cascading flow turns this small canyon into a lush green hanging garden. The view from below the curved cliff face down to the main canyon is wonderful, with both the Great White Thrown and Cable Mountain towering over you on the left. For those looking to add a more serious hike or two, the Hidden Canyon, East Rim and Observation Point Trails also start at the trailhead.
short and funny trail
A fun little short walk with a beautiful reward. especially when the sun is shining just right to catch the water droplets.
Very easy walk up a short hill. Accessible to anyone.
This can hardly be considered a "hike" as you blink and it is over! However, it is pretty cool to see the weeping rock. This is a fun stop to see on your way to do an actual Zion hike.
Super easy and short but very cool! Spring water just rains from the rocks and it is beautiful.
Steep trail but worth it. The water at the end was a nice way to cool off.
Awesome little trail! Very trafficked! Soooo many people, there were even baby strollers up at the top. The walk is very easy, but steep! The view at the top is so worth it and the most that constantly falls from the rocks is beautiful. Would definitely do this one again!
Very easy short hike. If your hot and need a refreshing place for a break. This is the spot to cool off.
