A 3700' vertical summit ascent through the primitive, rugged countryside of Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness. Established in 1984 the Wilderness Preservation System designated 50,000 acres as the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness. True to all wilderness areas Pine Valley Mountain offers a more primitive backcountry experience. No motorized vehicles or mechanical equipment are allowed in any wilderness areas. A 3700' vertical summit ascent follows the Dixie National Forest trail 3022 through this primitive, rugged countryside. Leaving trail 3022 before reaching Andersen Valley to arrive at the summit of Mount Baldy.
