Grotto Trail is a 1.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Springdale, UT that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
Directions from South Entrance: Drive northward to the visitor center and park your car. Board the Zion shuttle and take it to The Grotto approximately five miles north in Zion Canyon.
Nice easy morning walk "hike". Lots of wildlife along this trail as well. Very enjoyable!
Pretty much the most boring trail in Zion. Only waste your time if you're paring it with another trail.
Took this little jaunt after Angel's landing to the park lodge. I suggest rather than the bus as it is a nice way to wind down and makes the beer even more refreshing. It is pretty and we saw deer and turkeys along the way!
We did the lower Emerald pool, Upper Emerald pool and on the way back took the Grotto Trail. The view is really good from the Grotto trail. It was the sunset time and the rock was glowing with the reddish color. The Lower Emerald pool falls was visible from this trail.
We did this trail after Emerald Pools, it was a nice easy hike. This trail was less busy and had some great views.
Easy hike, saw lots of deer! Bundle up if you trek it in December
Fun little trail.
Easy trail from Zion Lodge to a picnic area. Pretty views along the way.
Enjoyable easy hike.
Very easy hike, I'd recommend as a warm up for one of the longer ones. It is mostly flat and there's not much to look at. Part of it goes pretty close by the road, so I guess you can look at cars driving by. We were hoping that with the name Grotto Trail there'd be some, you know, grottos. Nope.
Combined this trail with the Emerald pools loop. Very scenic and some shade through the trees as you follow the river to the Zion lodge. Ate lunch overlooking the lawn in front of the lodge. Very peaceful. Extremetly large trees!! Lots of deer
More of a walk that a hike compared to the rest of the trails.
A nice little walk, and good starting location to get to some other hikes. We started with this one and continued to the Emerald Pools, so it was just enough hiking keep my younger cousins entertained without being too long or tiring.
Took the shuttle to the trail-head. This is a scenic trail that leads to the Angels' Landing and Emerald Pools trail-heads. It is paved.
