To the top of Grandview Peak along the Great Western Trail Getting to this mountain is no easy task. I have herd you can get to Grandview from City Creek in Salt Lake City or from Kenny Creek in Bountiful. If you have a high clearance four wheel drive this route gives you the shortest hiking distance of about Eight miles round trip. We made our trek in late June. On a beautiful clear day. The Great Western Trail follows the ridge of the mountains along the Davis Morgan County line. The trail skirts some of the lesser peaks making it a fairly steady assent until you reach the base of Grandview. The last half mile is the steepest with no established trail but the view from the top is incredible and worth the effort to get their. Grandview rises to 9410 feet and is the highest peak in this general area. Grandview peak is a little harder to get to than many of the spectacular in the Wassatch front but is definitely worth the effort to get there.
not used much. good hike.
Hiked this peak from the Farmington Flats side. Excellent views as you hike along the saddle looking into the Morgan Valley. Looked to be rarely climbed. Didn't see another person the entire hike.
Hiked this, but from North Canyon, just south of Mueller Park.
Liked seeing the Uinta Mountains, Antelope Island, and Morgan at the same time!
