High Point of Emery County East Mountain is the high point of Emery County in Utah. This makes it a popular destination for High Pointers and Peak-Bagers. The book. High in Utah suggests basically the route we took start at the base and go straight East. When we got the top we found sheep herders on horse back and a good looking trail heading north I wish we had known this trail was there. I would have preferred this route We basically bushwhacked our way to the top 1600 feet in one mile. The view from the top was great You can see much of the Manti National forest. And some of the lakes and reservoirs in the area. I am glad I got this peak of my list because it was a tough one but I also wish I had taken the trail
