Cyclone Canyon Trail is a 13.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near La Sal Junction, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and backpacking and is accessible year-round.
Cyclone Canyon Trail follows one of the Grabens area and is reached via the Confluence overlook trail starting at the Big Spring Trailhead or by 4 wheel vehicle if you wish to shorten the hike. A graben is a valley with a distinct escarpment on each side caused by the displacement of a block of land downward. Graben often occur side-by-side with horsts. Horst and graben structures indicate tensional forces and crustal stretching. Once you are on the this trail it is very level and easy. It's a lesser traveled trail if you want solitude and has no water nearby.
Once you leave the Confluence Trail at the Cyclone Canyon trail junction you are in a different environment that other areas of Canyonlands. The trail is in a Graben. The trail is almost totally level from beginning to end.
