WATSP - Directissimo Trail is a 1.7 mile loop trail located near El Paso, TX and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
Hike from the parking lot to the Wyler Aerial Tramway Deck and Ranger Peak. From the trailhead start climbing up. Follow the trail until you reach the ridgeline at 0.88 miles. At this point the Directissimo Trail joins the Ridgeline Trail #1 to the Tramway Platform. At 1.00 miles you will reach the B-36 overlook. If you look down the mountain to the west you will see parts of a B-36 crash site from 1953. See the FMSP-B36 hike for more info. From this point the trail switch-backs up another 0.75 miles to the Wyler aerial tramway Platform on Ranger Peak. If you bought tickets for the ride down, catch the tram down when you are ready. Or hike down for free on the same trail - reverse route.
