Rooney's Place trail is a 0.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Big Bend National Park, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from September until March.
Old homestead This trail takes you to a rock house ruin on the Rio Grande.
The 1980 version of "The road guide to backcountry dirt roads of Big Bend National Park" mentions the ruin in its description of the River Road. I think the Parks service has closed this road to motorized traffic, as they no longer show this side road on their maps. On the way down to Rooney's, you pass two other rock ruins. The location is 8.8 miles west of the east end of the River Road.
