Oxbow Lake Trail is a 0.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Gonzalez, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Quick, shady gravel trail that makes a loop around Oxbow Lake. Serene views of the lake on the trail, plus plenty of wildflowers. This is an easy trail that is wide, level, and well maintained. There are several areas you can access the lake directly off of the trail. See wildflowers, wild blackberries, frogs and geese as you circle the lake. Park fees are $3/person/day, free with a Texas State Park Pass.
In Palmetto State Park, this trail is at tent camping grounds which includes picnic tables, outdoor grills, playground, paddle boat and kayak rentals. Restrooms are located at the trailhead. The area is nicely maintained. Hike/walk is short and flat.
Quick easy hike. The No Trespassing sign posted on the Little Hill Baptist Church does not apply to the trail.
