Mayfield Preserve Garden Walk and Amble is a 1 mile point-to-point trail located near Austin, Texas that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
Nice little walk about 1.25 miles. More hills that what I thought there would be which was a nice surprise.
Short, Sweet and Easy. It's not really a hike, but rather a good sight-seeing destination. Mayfield Preserve is an old estate that backs up to a small cove off the Colorado River. The property connects with the Laguna Gloria Art Museum which has a sculpture garden. You could couple these two stops with the nearby Mt Bonnell lookout point, and altogether you would get some real exercise as well as checking off a couple of boxes on your Austin Bucket List.
Excellent family hike for those with little ones in tow!
Awesome. The peacocks and cottage are beautiful. The Trails are all intertwined so you can walk around for a hour or two.
Super simple with loads of shade. Lots of peacocks wandering around. Different trails lead to about the same place. We came out into a contemporary art area...not complaining about that. Just a short walk back to the parking/hiking areas.
This is a great simple trail for small children. My two year old is confident here and seeing the peacocks is an added bonus.
