Easy paved trail and an "off-road pathway" that runs alongside of it. Restaurants provide free water to those working out, police on bikes regularly patrol the entire trail, great social atmosphere and plenty of places to visit while on it. It's not for those wanting to get-a-way from the city because it is the epitome of urban life.
Love this trail for a good brisk walk with lots of shaded areas. Very clean and well maintained cement trail walk.
Walk down in to the parks and the stairs below the trail also. Beautiful scenery and peaceful. Even in the middle of Dallas.
Great place to walk dogs. Lots of stops with water. Katy Trail Ice House is also a nice place to cool off. Misters and water for doggies and humans!
I love this trail, right in the heart of Dallas.
Beautiful trail that goes into downtown Dallas.
Nice paved path with high traffic, need to be aware of your surroundings as there are many cyclists, pedestrians, and k-9s. The trail also has an occasional event held on or near it such as foot races.
Fun running or roller blading trail
We live close to Katy and walk it (with our dog) almost every day. Katy is an old railroad right of way, so only a few traffic intersections to cross. Some shaded areas help somewhat on hot days. It can be very crowded on weekends. A few bikers zoom by so be careful.
