Gorman Falls is absolutely beautiful.

The hike to the falls is s little bland at first, but hang in there... It gets better as you go. As you near the falls, the last 10 minutes or so gets very rocky, and there's a steep descent at the end. I saw people there with small children and dogs... I probably wouldn't take a child under the age of 7, and I didn't take my dog because I think he would have pulled me down the rocks! If your dog is a little calmer than mine, you'd probably be ok to take it.

Gorgeous waterfall but the trail was just so-so. We didn't feel that it was as maintained as many of the other National Parks we have visited. It was a great morning hike and we had a picnic lunch by the falls. Secluded and beautiful. If not for the falls we would have given it a two star.

Wow! Gorman Falls is beautiful! The hike/walk isn't bad. Lots of ruble so foo placement is at a premium to keep from twisting an ankle. The last 70' or so are straight down probably a 60-70' drop. Pretty tricky but well worth it. Still lots of trails to explore at this park.

Definitely a hikers workout! This particular trial is pretty rocky, has many steep areas the closer you get. There is a bike trail as well. I personally enjoyed being able to spot out the fishing opportunity once you make it to the falls and it is a great place for a day date and a picnic. The water fall is absolutely beautiful for Texas. The rocks covered in moss was pretty sweet to see as well. The red cardinals are a beauty to capture against the fall as well. An enjoyable hike, make sure to have a camel back! Also some light snacks, and have a hiking buddy you can enjoy chatting with, the hike is definitely a hike for catching up on some bonding. There is also a secret little gem ( a cactus growing out of a rock!!!) Totally adorable and it is close to the bike rack. If you are standing at the bike rack (at a size 9.5 shoe) take 25 steps straight out and there it is.

This was a great hike! This wasn't too hard but difficult enough to make me feel like I was really hiking.

It took about 48 min to walk to the waterfall. I saw lots of birds (mostly cardinals) and many deer. It was very peaceful.

The falls itself wasn't a huge torrential down poor, but it was very wide and full of interesting plants.

Will likely hike again this weekend!

If you are anywhere close it is well worth the time. The 1.5 hour drive nothing compared to the reward at the falls. I plan to do it again soon.

Very hot, and little shade when we went. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat. The way to the falls is rocky and downhill. It's uphill all the way back.... If you are uneasy on your feet, you'll need to be careful. Why did i give it 4 stars then? The falls, it's absolutely a treasure after the hike. It's beautiful, and you'd never guess that it would be as cool and refreshing and shady.

the falls are beautiful and is a hard hike to them, dogs have a difficult time getting up and down the slick rocks to the falls. it is worth it.
