A very nice road indeed. It can be very curvy at times, but that is all part of the journey. Starts out of Mountain City as TN-91, and stays straight for a while. But, past camp Ahistadi, the road turns curvy. The newly built Laurel Creek rail trail can be seen across the river. At Damascus, turn right onto US-58 east. More Curves. Enjoy the woods, with all of its hiking trails and campgrounds. Stay right onto 58, passing by Green Cove, Whitetop, Helton Creek, and Grayson Highlands. Massie Gap in Grayson Highlands is the closest auto point to Mt. Rogers. From here, you have to hike!
