Lynn Camp Prong and Appalachian Trail is a 20.7 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Townsend, Tennessee that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.
The last 3.0 miles of Tremont Road are closed in winter, so hike is best from spring to fall. After heavy rains an unbridged crossing of Indian Flats Prong could be a wade. While possible for experienced hikers to do this trip in a day, it is not recommended. Spend 2 nights, staying at Campsite 28 the first night and Derrick Knob Shelter the second night.
