Cub Creek Lake Trail is a 5.7 mile loop trail located near Wildersville, TN that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
Lovely loop around Cub Lake with changes in scenery to keep things interesting. Crosses through the recreation and cabin areas where it can be a little tricky to find where the trail picks up again. There are also 3 splits to continue onto other sections of the 30-mile Red Leaves Trail which winds throughout the park/state forest.
This is one of the nicest and prettiest trails to hike in TN. The trail offers several unique small bridges to walk on along with wetland close to the trail. For about half the trail you have a view of cub creek and the other half is through the forest. We saw various ferns and wildlife throughout. Highly recommend if you have the time to hike it!
A wonderful day of hiking. Boards and bridges are set up in the lows and plenty of hills to hike. Saw plenty of wildlife and there were places to explore and rest.
Had a great time. Made a great one night trip. Can't wait to go again & get away!
I really like this hike at Cub Creek lake area. I live nearby and hike it several times a year. The trails are maintained pretty well. Trails are marked and easy to follow. I hike from the park store to the back side of the lake and back to the store. Be aware of where your stepping I have walked up on a few snakes this year.
A good long trail, but needs major maintenance. The last half of the trail had a lot of downed trees in the way still, and the one part of the trail to take to get to the cabins and cross the lake on the bridge is not well marked. I missed it and got sent way of course. Moderate terrain with some nice small hill climbs, not a bad hike overall, would do it again. Tried to find the cache there, but think it needs maintenance as well, to much windfall damage in it's area.
