moderately strenuous with some good incline. Pretty views throughout but almost always looking through a lot of brush. Bring lunch for the picnic table at the top. :)
Beautiful hike! 360 degree views from the top. If you want to propose to your girlfriend this is where you should do it. I should know -12/10/16 he proposed next to the picnic table. ☺️
Great trail. Will definitely do again. A couple things though- according to my GPS it was 2.1 miles to get to the top of tip top trail from Cascade making it a 4.2 mile round trip. Also, if you are one that does not like plants touching your legs i would definitely recommend wearing breathable pants, the trail was really overgrown with vegetation. The trail was very well marked- marked with numerous white marks to keep you on the right trail. Great mountain views at the top with shade and a picnic table to enjoy a snack :)
Easiest section of buffalo mountain. Drive through the gate and make a right to drive up to the picnic area. head out from the map to the right and the first lookout is about .25 miles. continue along the white trail for an easy incline up to the sign for tip-top and make a right there for another .25 mile. NO WATERFALLS. none that I have ever found on buffalo mountain, anyway lol. nice cascades on the inner blue trail that turns pink trail halfway up.
It was so beautiful
I started today from Lone Oak Road going 2 miles and 1000 feet incline to Tip Top. That track was called Buffalo Mountain part 1. From there I went to White Rock and the radio towers on down to the alternate parking area and trail head. That was Buffalo Mountain part 2. From there i went to the main parking lot and took the Cascade trail to Tip Top again before descending the 22 mile trail to my car. My iphone ran out of batteries but I save the last track as Buffalo Mountain part 3. All in all it was 5 hours and probably 12 miles for which the last three were u tracked.
Really pretty hike. I took some pictures but I don't see where to upload them easily. To get to the really good trails, keep driving up to the top. You can stop and park earlier and there are nice trails with good views, but not as good as up high!
