I've used this trail countless times for my daily exercise (walking, hiking, running and biking). It consists of all paved walking/bike paths so it is easily traversable. There are some "hills" as you move south on the trail, but nothing that has an elevation gain or loss of over 50 feet, so it is a fairly easy trail for novice bikers.

The trail pretty much follows and has multiple access points to the Little Harpeth River, which is very picturesque, and an ideal place to slip off your shoes and wade into the water on a hot summer day. The park is very dog-friendly. There is also a lot of wildlife that come up to the edge of the trail, like deer.

I am not really sure why this is listed as just 3.8 miles, because the trail actual starts in Tower Park, about 100 feet from Route 65, and goes all the way down to Smith Park, about 1/2 mile past Split Log Road. I would say it is more like 5+ miles end to end.

Great for a walk or run. Primarily in the shade and a few spots to stop and play in the creek.
