very beautiful hiking trails. did a January hike here and the Frozen waterfalls were a site to see
Beautiful area, we took the trail off of Cleopatra up to Devil's Bathtub and it was well worth the hike!
This highway near Spearfish So. Dak. is a very nice drive, especially in the fall when the leaves have changed color. There is a waterfall halfway up the canyon called Bridal Veil Falls and it looks really cool in the winter when it is frozen, and then there is a trail to hike near Savoy behind the Latchstring Restaurant with a waterfall and the trail is rough on one side when you start the hike, and better on the other side , but it is flat at the bottom, and it is not a very long hike. Then there is Roughlock Falls up about a mile or so from the Latchstring that is a beautiful waterfall, and there is a one mile trail that you can hike starting from the hotel across from the restaurant, or you can drive up to it. The rest of the canyon is also a nice drive and it takes you over to Cheyenne Crossing, where you can head back to Lead So. Dak., or go to Newcastle Wyo.
Great scenic drive as part of our route trip from KS to SD to WY to CO and back to KS.
This is a very nice drive. There are frequent stops along the way to hike a few local favorites I wont disclose here and a few well marked paths in Savoy, very nice way to spend a morning.
