Great short hike. Good way to get an up close look at some of the features in the Badlands. Worth the time. Also saw some bighorn sheep right next to the parking lot!!
Great trail to get a taste of Badlands hiking. We saw 3 big horn sheep up close. Beautiful views from various locations (with a little exploring) at the top. Short and easy. The ladder was the most uncomfortable part for me, though some may not like a few narrow turns along the cliff. Have to do a little climbing on gravelly rock, but very manageable.
Really cool trail with lots of room for exploration. A short and very busy trail, but well worth the hike!
Really cool trail that features a climbing ladder. Stopped at some viewpoints that looked over the land below. 6/30/2016
I can't tell you how much you need to do this trail. And you should explore the crevices along the way where the water used to run down the rocks. The ladder is awesome.
Loved it!!! Conquered the ladder!
Amazing short hike in the Badlands, this one takes you up and over striking, colorful formations to a little notch that lets you look out over the plains below. The trail is short, but the terrain is rough and there is a ladder (at a 45 degree angle) to clamber up. The views of the wild, craggy badlands formations are amazing!
Great hike with lots to look at and explore! Really cool rope ladder and steep drop offs.
A must see. Escape the people, venture off into this trail, the ladder is awesome and much easier than people seem to think. The natural formation is truly incredible, and the scenic vista at the end blows you away even more.
Short and sweet trail that gets you quickly out of crowds and into the rocks--two relatively flat portion with an easy climb in between. The ladder is super cool and easier than it looks. Allow plenty of time to explore and hang out at the beautiful vista that is the payoff at the end of this out and back trail.
What a cool trail! Much different than the forest hiking we're used to, but so glad we did it! We luckily got started early enough that the heat of the day hadn't rally intensified yet, which made it much more enjoyable. We loved the ladder! Great scenery.
Great trail. The ladder was awesome and my 4 and 7 yr olds love it. Very hot today (95 plus) so it was tougher than if it was cooler. Bring lots of water and take your time as the footing is quite slippery and loose.
Short and fun hike in the Badlands. I definitely making this a stop on your drive through the park
