Nice, easy paved trail with a few hills. Follows the Catawba River & has access to the river for kayakers & floaters.
It is pretty good. Heavily trafficked in places at times. Not good if you want to think. Too many people. Safer now that some of the very close brush has been done away with.
enjoyed the easy terrain with my young family.
Nice paved trail. Some good hills and length. Very good for whatever type of activity you will use it for. Also saw 4 deer foraging along trail.
We kept to the paved trail with our dog - this was well-maintained and full of runners, walkers, and cyclists. We had no problems finding parking. The paved trail was very pleasant for a walk with plenty of unpaved trail options branching off for a more challenging hike/run/ride. Consistently well-marked at each quarter mile, with curve and hill signs as well, I would definitely recommend the Riverwalk, especially for families!
Great trail to walk if you love a suburb setting. A few hills to get your cardio going and great views of the Catawba River with the trail ending at an old railroad bridge crossing the river.
Trail is ok, difficult to find a parking place. Unless this changes, I won't be back.
Great! I hiked through the woods on the 2nd most difficult trail and saw 3 deer! For anyone looking for a little more challenging walk or hike than the paved trail, they have some nice trails through the woods!
Pretty busy place on a late Sat morning. Watching the misc boaters, small wildlife & the plethora of dog walkers made the partly shaded walk on the paved path, that much more enjoyable.
It looks so much better now that they have cleared out a better view of the river. I love that you can take the bike trails off of the paved path to get a more nature-like feel.
Once off the pavement, the actual mountain bike trail is not very well maintained. With all the low-canopy saplings, high-grass and weeds, and narrow track, it's nearly impossible to break 10mph anywhere on the dirt.
Blue and Black Diamond take great advantage of the terrain, giving smooth transitions, but visibility is limiting. Bring your own machete and widen the trail by 2ft to see where you're going.
Very well maintained. Completely paved, more of a track than trail. Clear mile markers (and markers for 911 location too). Enough of an incline to give us "just starting to exercise couch potatoes" a work out. Beautiful scenery along the river, lots of nature - one family on the trail said they had seen a beaver, we saw heron, other birds and lots of turtles. Plenty of shade and benches if you want to just sit an take in nature for a few minutes. Treasure to have here in town.
Nice clean and easy to use! Went in fall, great leaf colors!
This is a great walking trail. I love that it is paved and has .25 mile markers. There are just enough hills to give a little bit of a challenge. Brady, my 1 year old Chesador (a cross between a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and a Labrador Retriever) loved the walk and the river access (even though he wouldn't go for a swim). Trees provide some shade on the path. Highly recommend!
