18th century buildings and beautiful 60 ft waterfall Just note that the Park is closed this year in Jan and February. I went 1/2/04 and there happened to be someone there. You can still access the Station Cove falls from OSR, but at the Historic site, there are a few buildings that were built in the late 18th century that are worth looking at. If closed, you can still park at the fall trailhead, and cross OSR to get on the trail leading to the site. From the historic site, you follow the signs along the trail around a pond (can go either way around to vary route). This trail leads to OSR and crosses to the fall trail. There is a bulletin board with information and then it is about 0.5 miles to the falls and takes you through a swamp like area/cove forest area and would probably be beautiful in the spring and fall. Old trees are also all around. The falls allow up-close access and is a 60 ft stepped waterfall that forms from headwaters atop Station Mountain.
The trail was simple. A beautiful waterfall. There wasn't many people on this trail. Very quiet and peaceful.
Nice easy hike to visit some historic sites and a waterfall,
Great hike for kids!
Very easy trail and can be walked in just under an hour. The falls is nice but could be more if they had more water over them.
Great trial for small kids! 2 1/2 yr old and 4 yr old loves it.
Not a bad trail, pretty falls
Took my wife and dog. It was a great trail. Lots of fun!
Easy walk. Pretty falls. Be careful during summertime, there was a copperhead curled up at the base of the falls.
Enjoyed trail. Well kept. Falls beautiful. Bring water and lunch at the falls.
Easy hike and beautiful waterfall after a good bit of rain.
