December 26, 2014 was a very interesting, but fun day. We started at Jones Gap State Park. We hiked down Jones Gap trail to Cold Spring Branch trail where we turned back to Rim of the Gap to find out that it was closed for ice. So, we turned down Naturaland Trust Trail to head back towards Jones Gap, but ended up on Pinnacle pass (beautiful trail btw). However, we got about halfway down it when we couldn't find the cut back to Little Pinnacle. So instead of walking all the way back, we tried to find an alternative route, but didn't. We finally had to result to walking down Oil Creek Camp Road to HWY. 97, where thank The Lord a Good Samaritan gave us a ride in the back of his pick-up truck to our car at Jones Gap. Overall we hiked about 20 miles and despite not finding the trail, it was a great day at Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area.
