Outstanding waterfall, challenging trail This a great little workout, a bit much for the toddlers but okay for the pre teen crowd. The hike starts uphill and stays that way for a good while. There are some flat stretches mixed in abd a couple stream crossings. Being this short the hike reaches the falls before your to tired to enjoy the falls and they are beautiful. You can cross at the base of the falls and hike up the trail on the other side for a great pinic spot. The water was high on this date and we decided to climb up the cables to the upper part of the falls, look for larkspur on the river banks, they were blooming on New Years eve when we went. A great workout with an awesome payoff. Enjoy, See you on the trail
The hike was straight uphill the entire time. It was a great workout and just short enough not to make it miserable. The uphill climb was well worth the view of the waterfalls. I've seen many waterfalls and this one was one of the most beautiful. Highly recommend this trail. It was also marked very well so it made it pretty easy to follow.
Tough little hike no doubt but it's absolutely worth it. The waterfall is huge and gorgeous. We went after a few days of rainfall so it was a bit slick in places. Steep inclines. The trail is quite eroded but easy to follow.
Strenuous hike but beautiful falls.
The trail itself is quite eroded but the falls are worth the hike. There is one spot that is easy to go off trail and get lost. But it was just as easy to get back onto the actual trail. Just remember once it doesn't feel like a trail it's probably not a trail.
It was very challenging but worth every step! It does get steep in a couple areas but its passable. I wouldn't chance it on a damp day. The falls were amazing!! I got distracted by the sounds of water rushing and veered off the trail for a moment. I turned around and found myself back at a purple marker. It was amazing how the water drew me away from the trail. That was approximately the 3/4 mark. Once back on track, it was easy to keep the markers in mind. I loved it!
I couldn't find the damn thing
Pretty steep in a few places. Pay attention to the purple markers as it's easy to take a side trail in a couple of places - especially one. We quickly found out the hard way that we took a wrong turn in one place as it became VERY tough very fast. All in all, well worth it when you make it to the falls. Really pretty.
Tough hike but well worth it!! Only thing to watch out for is a few branch offs that are not trails. Just pay close attention to the markings and you will be good to go!
Tough climb - beautiful falls!!
It seems to be straight up! There were a few level places to catch your breath but don't expect a smooth trail either. There are boulders, trees, roots and such to manage. Definitely worth it!! Allow two hours to make it to the falls, have a short picnic and hike back.
