Rhode Island Coast Scenic Drive is a 61 mile trail located near Charlestown, RI. The trail is primarily used for walking and scenic driving and is accessible year-round.
A wonderful scenic drive. The traffic is heavy in places but come for the beauty and the charm. If you are in a hurry take I-95.
From Westerly to Plum Point and Narragansett Bay, Routes 1 and 1A are filled with oceanside beauty. Nothing specific, except the smell and sight of the ocean and shore. Also, while I believe that you haven't really experienced the east coast until you've driven Rte 1, I also recognize that much of it is a traffic nightmare. This is just NICE. No huge tourist destinations, unless you turn toward Newport, but a really nice drive.
