Completed what I would think is the best day hike of the warrior trail: 15 miles (one way) east to west from Greensboro to I-79. Most of the trail west from here is along roadsides. This section has some roadside travel as well as utility right of ways but is very peaceful. This is not a highly traveled path and a small volunteer group tries their best to maintain it. The machete we had came in handy for some overgrown low areas and poison ivy is very common. Follow the yellow blazes that are on trees, roads signs, gaurdrails, etc and consider the hiking guide. The trail has yellow dots mapping the trail, and it is longer then 45 miles, it was a trail from greensboro, to moundsville WV. i beleive it is 70 some odd miles. Native americans would travel it to get flint i beleive for arrowheads. and you never cross any streams, creeks, rivers.
