We never got to stassers stone pile as there was no signage and it didn't appear on map, we did get to hawk watch but a rattlesnake forced us to turn around...

Our Scout group took this hike. The trail runs along the top of Stone Mountain. We started at Stone Mountain Hawk Watch and hiked to Sausser's Stone Pile. The trail was clearly marked and well taken care of. It is very rocky and I should have worn better hiking boots. The views from the lookouts are beautiful. The boys want to hike the trail next year, from the Hawk Watch to Greenwood Furnace State Park. We also hiked the trails in Greenwood Furnace State Park, which is a great historical park.
