Lake Redman is a 2.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near York, PA. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Lake Redman and Lake Williams are my absolute favorite places to run. There is so much to see and so many different types of trails that I never get bored there.
Lots of variety in the trails and very dog friendly. Will definitely be back
One of our on the regular favorites. So many different trails in such a small area. Something for ever skill level too.
was a real easy trail you can tell its well traveled was hoping to see more wildlife but all in all got some good pictures looking forward to the other trails redman has to offer
It was a great afternoon walk!
Great walk, took my puppy and a really good hike!
A peaceful place to be and take pictures of the lake at sunset.
First time on the trail. It was nice and very peaceful. The trail is great for any age.
I love Lake Williams and Lake Redman. I have hiked the entire 11 miles around both and the trail is pretty nice. As stated before the trail markings are pretty lacking. The East side of Lake Redman trail can be pretty noisy due to the interstate, but it is still a nice hike. If you are going after it has rained or is currently raining, bring water shoes or a change of shoes. When doing the entire loop you have to go under I-83 through stream drains. First one is 4 x 4 feet and 100 yards long approx and the second one is much bigger and easier to walk through. On dryer days both have a inch of water or more, on wetter days there can be several inchs of faster moving water going through.
Took much longer than expected due to deep snow not yet melted. Trail is not marked very well, but for me that's all part of the fun! Traveling through the tunnel under 83 was quite a good time, especially since we had to straddle it in order to not get our feet soaked. The trees were beautiful, although the huge highway being so close did take away from the serenity.
This is my kids and my favorite place to hike locally. Gorgeous views when you get up around the lake. It's a bit spoiled by the highway being in sight, but still nice. There are several trails in and around the lake and we love exploring them. There's always a ton of dragonflies and caterpillars to see. If you take the trail around the lake, you can walk out and see fish, crayfish and neat stones. Love Lake Redman!
Not only was this a great day to hike but also for some kayaking on Lake Redman where we stopped for a break and soak up some sun on a large boulder island in the middle of the lake.
Decent trails around Lake Redman and Lake Williams; maybe not my favorite place to hike in the area (I guess because of proximity to Rt. 83 with its noise, surrounding developments, and clearing of trees in the area for gas (?) line and who knows what other reasons), but certainly not the worst place I've hiked. I usually see some mountain bikers out on the trails here. Trails close to the lake are wide dirt roads, likely access roads. There are some nice memorial benches placed periodically along these wider trails. Trails around lower part of Lake Williams seem to get less traffic.
Trails were not marked, seems they mark the entrance of the trail and then your on your own. I wanted to do the 11 mile loop had to cross or walk along the road on more than on occasion and had my daughter and dog. Trails were nice when far enough away from highway to relax.
Great trails ranging in difficulty. most well maintained and used by many walkers, hikers, bikers & runners.
