Tributaries of the Willamette River: Calapooia River is a 9.5 mile point-to-point trail located near Tangent, OR. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for walking and canoeing.
Linn county, McKercher Park to Brownsville. This section of Calapooia River is 7 miles long and is class I. However it is quite challenging in an open canoe with lots of rapids and turns. Best paddled in Late spring as there are no dams on it, it gets quite low in summer. It was 1200 CFS when we went. Unlike the lower sections, the water is quite clean. Brownsville is a fine touristy town to have lunch afterward.
