South Silver Falls is a 2.2 mile loop trail located near Silverton, Oregon that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
It's $5, and you'll park in a huge lot.
This is such a quick fun hike! Doesn't take too long and is always worth the trip hear round. There are many spots that have stairs or difficult terrain, but its a good starting out hike for those near salem oregon.
Winter Falls loop was about 5.4 miles and gorgeous on a sunny fall day. Wore Merrill trail sneakers and felt fine. Mostly flat but there is a fairly longer climb towards the end... equivalent to about 35 floors according to my health app. If you're looking for a medium level hike this is a good choice. Just over an hour.
Silver falls state park is amazing.

make sure to visit all the waterfalls- South and North loop- to get the most out of this hike, they are all beautiful! took about 5 hours including lunch and picture breaks to hike through it all.
Nice easy hike with our dogs Thunder and Ukiah. We took the Rim Trail which is pretty much the only trail at Silver Falls State Park that allows pets. We started at the South Falls and worked our way to the Stone Circle. From there, we took the Rim Trail. The Rim trail is ok not much to see until you reach the Upper North Falls trail. At the junction, leave the Rim Trail and hike .2 miles on the Upper North Falls trail until you reach your destination. If you take the Rim Trail, the Upper North Falls is the prize at the end. Nice view of the falls! It was a warm summer day so there were a lot of hikers coming and going.
My husband and I hiked from Upper North Falls to the Upper South Falls. It was a beautiful day and a great hike. This hike took us about 5hrs including rest stops and photo stops. You definitely want to be in good shape to walk this whole loop but is well worth it. You catch all but one water fall this hike.
views are amazing
Great little hike and dog friendly. I highly recommend the 8.7 hike around all 10 waterfalls.
Loved this hike and the view was awesome. Super easy too!
great walk if you go early before the crowds
Very icy today. Part of the trail was closed. Had to adjust and take another trail. Very crowded, but park fee was waived today.
Great hike with awesome views. Easy, except for steep and slippery portions. Wide maintained trail throughout.
Absolutely beautiful. Even with the extremely low rainfall this year, it was still a wonder to visit. Moderate climb up out the southern falls canyon area. Was puffing a bit with my asthma but I seemed to be the only one. Will visit again a thousand times.
