Slide Creek Falls is a 5.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Cascade Locks, OR that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
From the Herman Creek Campground trailhead, follow the trail from the parking area (sign says 'Herman Creek Trail 1/4 mile; Pacific Crest Trail 1/4 mile") to the power line and its dirt road; cross this clearing to the trail where it re-enters the forest. Go 24 minutes to a fork to Herman Creek Bridge and Pacific Crest Trail. Bear left for 6 minutes to a clearing with 5 ways out. Go straight across and bear right on an abandoned road. 27 minutes later, you will reach a rustic campground at the more or less well marked intersection with Gorton Creek Trail #408. Go straight ahead, and bear right at the intersection with Nick Eaton Way #447. 16 minutes later, you'll cross a creek with little flow except in winter. If you look carefully, you may see an amazing, unnamed, multi-step falls nearly 200 feet tall. 8 minutes to another side creek. 1 minute later, you round the corner to Falls Creek Falls. Continue up the trail for 1 mile, 45 minutes to Camp Creek Falls. Continue on the trail for 45 minutes to Casey Creek Campground (a very rustic and undeveloped place) and the intersection with the Casey Creek Trail #476; then continue 40 minutes to Slide Creek Falls, a total of 1.9 miles from Camp Creek Falls.
