We got to the trailhead without issues and there were no bugs. BUT! the trail disintegrated into deep sandy gullies and huge logs which became insurmountable at about 1 1/2 miles in. Too dangerous! Needs major restoration. Do not recommend, especially if you value your health.
Lots of downed trees along the access road, causing us to hike over a mile to the trailhead. Swarms of mosquitoes the whole way... Biting! So annoying. Trail is not clear, and overgrown in spots. Had to turn back who knows how far into it because it was unenjoyable. Too bad really! Maybe in the next few months I can get back and try again!
