Peter Skene Ogden Trail is a 19.2 mile loop trail located near La Pine, OR and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and mountain biking and is accessible from July until October.
There were a couple inches of wet snow for the last mile but otherwise it was a beautiful day out. We had no problems making it up to the lake from the six mile point
Nice trail for mtn. biking. The trail on the north side of Paulina creek is for uphill biking only. Coming down on the south side of the creek you can follow a ski trail, take the paved highway or come down the powerline road, which is a fast dirt road. One reviewer said the trail forbids mtn. bikes. She may have mistaken the sign. It means no downhill biking on the trail. You can shorten it by 2 miles if you drive to McKay Crossing campground to start. Moderate uphill with a few short, steep parts until you get about 3 miles from the lake, then it flattens out a lot.
