went with our 2.5 year old & 7 year old daughter. my husband took turns having our youngest on our shoulders going up the trail but she did half of it on the way down. my oldest did the entire trail. speaking of the trail itself, it was absolutely beautiful & a great work out while going up the trail. the clatsop loop down was pretty easy. there's views along the route. its definitely worth it and I'll most likely go again!
The park was closed due to a forecasted storm and some downed trees but we parked down the road and went anyway. Of course it added a few miles (like 7) but it was a great trip up to Hikers Camp!
Great hike, wonderful views, and definitely hard at times but the views were well worth it! Bring your camera!
Unbelievable hike! Great trail, well maintained. Gorgeous views and huge trees! Will definitely do this one again!
The sights were beautiful; a challenging hike through the forest, bordering the coast (you can see the ocean basically the entire way), that finishes on a lovely beach. The hike felt especially rewarding when I was able to watch people surf and spend some time marveling over the tide pools. Definitely recommend!!
Beautiful moderate hike with both splendid views of the cliffs and beach, but also lovely shaded forest.
The views are amazing, and you should follow this trail all the way to Indian beach. The beach is pretty quiet compared to Canon Beach Haystack rock area. If you are there during low tide, you can go tidepooling. Great cardio with some steep, but manageable, up and down sections. Be careful of slick spots, even in dry weather. Distance is between 3-4 miles round trip.
This is a pretty challenging up and down walk with spectacular vistas of the ocean. This is a hike you really want to take if you can. You could shorted the out and back to the point where the path hugs the mountain and you can see the rocks and lighthouse and head back if you want a shorter route.
Went from Ecola Point to Indian Beach and back. Beautiful hike! Temperature was excellent in mid-July. Worked-up quite a sweat and heart rate for beginner-shape. Some step-downs were slick even in the afternoon.
Can't beat a hike where you see the ocean along the way!
Great way to get away from the crowds at the picnic area. Not a hard hike but just challenging enough to dissuade the masses. Most people probably take the hike for access to the beach but the hillside forested trail is quite worthwhile on its own.
Awesome hike and so beautiful. Everyone I was with loved it.
Loved the variety along the trail - forest, cliffside, ocean viewpoints. A pretty trail with just the right amount of challenge. And a gorgeous beach at the end!
My 4 year old and I hiked this trail from trailhead through to Indian Beach where we were picked up. The coastal and forest views were great! Well maintained trail, not difficult at all.
Views, views, and more views!!!
