Jacobs Ladder and Christmas Rocks Trail is a 4.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Hamburg, OH that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
I discovered this little gem while I was on my way home from another hike. It is an Ohio Nature Preserve. You need to park in the designated parking spot. There is a driveway you walk up (about .5 miles) before you actually get to the preserve but there is not parking at the other end of the driveway. The trail without the loops is fairly easy but you do not get to see any real views unless you do the loops. The loop furthest north takes you to a cliff/cave. There is a staircase going down to the bottom so you can get a good view. Both loops have some steep loops. The southerly loop has one climb called climbing Jacobs Ladder. It is not for the faint of heart but is worth the climb. The top holds a wonderful view of the entire valley. Enjoy.
