Buckeye Trail and Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Loop is a 3.6 mile loop trail located near Peninsula, Ohio and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and road biking and is accessible from April until October.
We took the O & E Canal Trail south from the Boston Visitor Center and did a relatively short loop out on the Buckeye Trail, taking it back to the Cuyahoga River and the Towpath. There were several very nice views of the valley along the way.
Lots of trails in and around the area. Some people complained about mud, but you are hiking lol id do it again.
Very nice place. Trail is well marked but overgrown in some places and very muddy in others. Only complaint was the massive amount of Mosquitos. Lots of challenging but doable hills, nice scenic ravines, a very good mix of all of what Ohio nature has to offer.
