Brown's Lake Bog Trail is a 0.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Shreve, Ohio that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from January until January.
The .75-mile trail at Browns Lake Bog traverses a fern-carpeted lowland forest and surrounding oak-studded glacial hills. The focal point of the preserve is its floating bog, home to the rare and whimsical buckbean, pitcher plant, and many more. The first .25 mile, rated easy, is a boardwalk that takes you through the floating bog that supports a rare boreal plant community. A moderate .5-mile loop extension works its way through surrounding oak-studded glacial hills and lowland woods that support ephemeral pools during much of the year.
