America's Electric Power's Recreation Land is a 25 mile loop trail located near McConnelsville, Ohio. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for mountain biking.
Nice ride, but the switchbacks were hard work and open for a fall. It is rocky, narrow and steep in places but a very nice ride.
It was a nice ride, but more work than I had expected.
I like how the road to the parking lot is gravel right off the bat, and the parking lot is mud. You have to ride over a little bridge that is over a creek that connects two remote ponds to get to the start of the trail, and wabam! Immediately you start a long climb up the trail, which never ends pretty much, but when you start to go downhill, hold on to those brakes or you'll be a goner! The trail is full of rocks/ boulders, trees, little trenches from small creeks, and what I've counted, tree extra large bluffs not even a foot away from the trail, which don't even have fences to protect you from falling, and it has a lot of switchbacks. There are four emergency roads that connect the trail to the main road, which is a 1/2 a mile away at some points, that allow you to meet up with ambulances if you get hurt, or to just be picked up by someone else to get back to camp. Highly recommend this trail, and even though it says its easy to bike, it is NOT.
