Stone Mountain Summit Trail is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Hendersonville, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
This hike is considered a strenuous hike. It only gets very steep at the end, during the final climb to the summit. The strenuous final climb to the summit of Stone Mountain offers a stunning 360 degree view that you won't soon forget. This hike is an out and back, not a loop. When you reach the summit of Stone Mountain, retrace your steps back to the parking lot. Hiking Directions: From Sky Valley Road parking lot: Take Rocky Ridge Trail to Stone Mountain Trail, left on Stone Mountain Trail, continue on Stone Mountain Trail to summit; follow Stone Mountain Trail back down to Rocky Ridge, and Rocky Ridge back to the parking lot.
