Sauratown Trail is a 6.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Pinnacle, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October.
The current track shown is not correct. Sauratown #15 is the westernmost portion of the trail that connects Hanging Rock State Park with Pilot Mountain State Park. Heading out from Pilot Mountain, the trail starts off the Grassy Ridge Trail not too far south of the parking lot at the park entrance. It passes through some moderately slopped hills, with some pretty views of the mountain. It can get pretty muddy in a few places after a lot of rain...and since horses are allowed, you need to be careful where you step.
