Price Lake Loop Trail is a 2.2 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Blowing Rock, NC that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Beautiful walk around a mountain lake, lots of obvious beaver activity. The Price Lake Loop Trail circles a beautiful mountain lake. This is a good hike for anyone due to the short distance and flat terrain. Some areas of the trail may be muddy after winter snows or spring rains. From the Price Lake Overlook, go to the left over the bridge. Follow the trail into the woods. As you walk around the lake you'll notice a lot of beaver sign on the surrounding trees. The muddy areas on the trail near the back of the lake are also a result of the beavers work. Continue following this easy, flat trail around the lake. You'll walk through a nice campground area as you return back to the parking area.
great family trail!
super low/flat elevation.
Fun easy trail
Fun, easy trail. Flat for the most part. Some roots but mostly flat terrain and some boardwalks. Great views of lakes!
Nice walk with family of all ages
Very easy walk, great for all ages. Trail is pretty well maintained so it's really easy to follow. Great for a short walk with the pup! Can get pretty busy in the high season though.
nice hike...parts of trail very muddy or ankle deep water in some parts, nice waterfalls
The loop was great and easy. The actual posted length is 2.3 miles
Path was easy to follow and offered great
shade on a hot day. Watch for tree roots but otherwise easy to navigate. Nice views of lake and zero mosquitos! Many
People kayaking and having a great time.
Nice little loop trail. Very easy. Heavy traffic.
With three children (ages 6, 8, and 10) it was great. Easy enough for all ages, plus it was absolutely beautiful. Wonderful way to spend our 'Sunday fun surprise day' :)
Really enjoyed this walk. Lovely views around the entire lake. Just be aware, if there was plentiful rain, this will make for one soggy walk/hike!
This is perfect with a dog and a kid in tow. Very peaceful. We saw deer. There were plenty of other dogs on the trail and we did need to keep ours on a shorter leash than normal to avoid confrontations. Lesson learned quickly. But that's no biggie. We'll definitely do this hike again. I loved the often rooty path (maybe not the best for someone not so sure footed). I also liked being completely enclosed by trees at parts and then having it all open up and taking in the lake view. It was cloudy and cool the day we went- definitely needed the sweatshirts we brought. There were lots of people fishing and a huge group of girl scouts. It was a little muddy in parts but we didn't even need to clean up towels I brought, expecting mud. Very enjoyable, simple hike for a family.
It was cloudy and cold. There wasn't much scenery and the trail was a little muddy. Not bad for an easy hike to end our week.
one of my favorite places to go walk. pretty easy access.
Great hike for beginners!! Lots of roots to navigate but doable
Scenic but not a difficult trail. A bit muddy in places but the ground was pretty well frozen so not a big deal for us.
a Beautiful trail for a family hike
It was fun we went completely around the lake and there were some parts of the trail that came to a fork and only one way would keep you on the same trail nothing was marked and there were roots EVERYWHERE but was totally worth it
