This trail has so many options. Paved for the most part, but about 1.25 miles of gravel/dirt. Ran and 8 mile out and back and really enjoyed it. One of my longest runs but didn't feel like it. A lot of scenery and runs right along the creek for most of the trail.

I walked 3 miles (each way) of this trail starting at Kirk Farm Fields. Nice wide paved path but limited wildlife. Sign posts are absent on gravel section through Reasearch park. Also, road crossing in Research Park can take a while. Suggest going to http://charmeck.org/mecklenburg/county/ParkandRec/Greenways/OpenGreenways/Pages/MallardCreekandClark'sCreek.aspx
for a map as it doesn't match what is listed here.
