Little Creek Loop Trail is an easy loop that connects the Raven Rock Loop Trail with Canoe Camp and Group Camp trails. Trail follows Little Creek along mountain laurel laden and gently rolling terrain. The section along the creek is more interesting as the return half tends to be more of a pine straw laden roadbed. Mountain laurel and exposed granite rocks along the creek remind you of a mountain environment. Good for trail running.
We combined Little Creek Loop with the Raven Rock trail on a late winter hike. We started beside the picnic shelter in the first parking lot and first took the easy but uneventful American Beech Trail. Then started down the Loop along Little Creek through mountain laurel, hardwoods and pines and stayed right onto the Little Creek Loop trail - nice short trail along the creek with a few small falls, but again uneventful. Then after passing the bridge to Group Camp, went onto the Raven Rock Loop to the river.
Very nice trail. Low traveled so you are able to enjoy the sounds of nature.
I enjoyed this hike along the creek. It was beautiful and peaceful.
