Keyauwee Supertree Woodrun Loop Trail is a 12.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Mt Gilead, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers. The trail is rated as moderate offers a number of activity options.
Did this loop today starting from the trailhead on 24 it was 12.53 miles(maybe 1/4th a mile wasted because I had to go back for some sunglasses). Starting at the highway trailhead, you continue down the road until you hit the Wood Run trail which is only 1.4 miles and simply an enjoyable single track to bypass the gravel road. At the end of Wood Run you come to the Keyauenee Trailhead and start toward the left with that. Lots of ups, downs, some mud(even after a week of sun), a couple streams, and some rock gardens. I had to chicken out and walk down one rocky part which had warning signs. This connects to the Supertree trail which seems like a gravel road with a short period of singletrack mixed in. Continue back until you hit the Wood Run trail and back to the trailhead on 24/27. All the trails were well marked minus Supertree, but it was no issue if you grab a map from the trailhead. The loop will definitely get you dirty and worked up. Great fun out here, I wish it was closer.
