Simple loop around the base of the pinnacle. A few steps which can be slick, nothing too strenuous. Shame you can't get up to the top anymore, but preservation is a good thing. Not much to be gained in terms of a better view looking outward, but a few interesting looks up the rock face.
Lovely little loop around the pinnacle; easy with great views.
This is a great little hike which is short, and rather easy. There are a number of stone stairs which lead up around and around the big pinnacle. There are a lot of really cool rock formations to see and take pictures of. There are also 3 to 4 neat rock formations which you could eat a picnic lunch under; some with really nice long ranging views. All in all, a great little hike with plenty of points of interest. Good for the whole family. This is a well trafficked trail, so expect to see folks during your hike.
nice trail with great views
A mostly light, easy trail. Short, but very enjoyable & easy for the whole family.
Well maintained, short stop, very pleasant.
Quick loop around pilot mountains main peak. Very pretty stone to look at. Not to many mountain ranges in the scenic view but still a nice sight for being up that high.
I'm so thankful that Pilot Mountain is just 5 minutes away from our home. It's very convenient for us to go hiking any day. Jomeokee Trail is an easy hike for my 2-year old son.
The temperature was at record highs for a winter solstice, so we decided to take a side trip to Pilot Mountain State Park on our way back home from a family visit. The weather was breezy, cool and overcast at the top, but the mountain and ledges shielded us from the winds. Jomeokee is a short loop (it is not just a connector trail) around the entire Big Pinnacle at the top; the top cannot be accessed without rock climbing and the area is currently closed to rock climbers (they are plentiful on the Ledge Springs Trail). So the trail circles the base of the pinnacle. Cool rock formations along the way and winter hiking offers more views without the foliage. This trail connects to the Ledge Springs trail which is longer and more strenuous. Nice short loop hike.
Jomeokee is a quick connector trail to the Ledge Springs Trail, which wraps around the base of Pilot Mountain. Not much to really rate.
