Park in parking area on Ludingtonville Road. There is a kiosk there with trail maps. Take the blue trail up to and around the lake or explore the many side trails.
I started my hike from the west parking area and made my way around the south end of the lake first. The beginning of the trail is a bit narrow, but once it opens up it is great. There are a lot of ups and down, but a beginner hiker can tackle the trail with ease. Parts of the trail are rocky or even made out stone so mind your footing, other than that it's quite easy, peaceful, and beautiful. There are quite a view spots throughout the trail that have picture perfect views of the entire lake. Definitely a great hike.
Beautiful lake loop.
Good quick hike to the lake and back. Takes about an hit and a half on the blue trail at a slow pace.
Good hike not bad at all beautiful lake!
Great hike! Lots of land changes along the way with many unique attributes. You have to hike in a mile or so before you start to really enjoy this park and see why its so special. Lots of waterfront, ledges, up and down trails and terrain. The signs of the cushmann family seen around the park make it all the more interesting place. See pictures if I can get them to upload.
Nice easy hike with the kid on the back pack
