Followed the green trail after reaching Times Square. Never went that way before and it took an extra hour back to parking lot. The whole hike took about 2 1/2 hours.
Good loop for beginners and heavily hiked on nice days. Went with a small group and explored Pine Swamp Mine, then made the mistake of trying to climb up the mountain above the mine for a quite break spot. We came face to face with a very angry snake and quickly made our way back down to the trail. Messed up after crossing the stream and took the wrong Red trail down towards Seven Lakes Drive rather than the one that takes you up to the scenic view before returning to the parking lot... Definitely recommend staying on trails to lessen likelihood of running into wildlife.
Update: I went back and did this hike with a friend last weekend, turns out the scenic view is no more, there is no longer a marked trail to it and it's "fenced off" with trees from below now blocking the view
Nicely marked trail. Take green to red triangles. About 4/5 mile loop back to parking lot. Lots of rocks and branches
Love this trail...we usually follow green in and loop back at Times Square following the red triangles. Much easier to see the markers this way!
Rocky, normal for Harriman. We started on the Red inverted triangle, finished on Long Path. Missed the trail switch at Times Square, painted on Rock face but to our backs as we walked on for another mile.
