Peaked Hill is a 3.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Paradox Lake, New York that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running and is best used from May until October.
Trailhead is across from the Paradox Lake Campground and you must paddle to it. It is hard to find from the lake- took us a little while to locate. This trail isn't used much. We had a fawn come running down the mountain past us! If you are used to worn down trails, this can be a refreshing change. It was like walking a forest that has been untouched - trails had leaves covering rocks and sticks in the way, etc. This makes footing a little more difficult. Hard to tell if you were even on the trail at times. (it is well marked, pay attention to the markers). It was a tough climb up past the pond. No view makes it a little disappointing. Ok for kids, but they were disappointed at the lack of view.
