Great. Did the trail in its entirety from northville to lake placid in 14 days. West Canada section is so beautiful.

The Northville-Placid Trail is a must do hike for any Adirondack backpacker. It traverses a variety of terrain and isn't over crowded. I section hiked the trial in the winter over the course of four trips and hardly saw a soul.

accidentally took a very wrong turn, but my kids and I ended up at this beautiful trail! ran into a few other hikers and it was nice to get "a sneak preview" of what was ahead

I love this trail. I have spent many, many nights here. Love these mountains and the varied terrain. I love the silence of the woods all year round. Lots of shelters. Most of them are pretty well maintained. Places to stop off for supplies. Great for section hiking or to get away for a couple of weeks.

Just finished section hiking this trail, and I absolutely loved it! You get to experience so many different terrains, with minimal human interaction. It is just you and nature. In addition, everyone that I have met on the trail has been great! Just please be prepared before going into the woods, to assure your safety, at all times.

I hiked this trail in the winter over the course of three trips. It is a great trail and the only long-distance trail in the Adirondacks. This was the first trail that the Adirondack Mountain Club built. This is a great trail in the summer but a bit more difficult in the winter. The limited winter use often means breaking trail through very deep snow. The advantage is that you will have a true wilderness experience.
